The White Heron

William Strickland

Painter of canvas and decorative boxes

When you hear the words, “Southern Hospitality”,  do you think of long, lazy days spent rocking on a front porch, sipping a tall glass of iced tea under the shade of a giant oak tree during hot, sun washed afternoons, or snuggling into a multi-patterned, handmade quilt while lying on a downy-soft bed?

This and more are the thoughts that William’s art evokes. His palette consists of soft colors and speaks of gentle days.

His painted boxes makes one think of quilt patterns and the tole paintings of years gone by.

His art is comforting like a grandmother’s hug.
