Bryan R. VanNortwick

Traditional Black & White Photographer & Printmaker

My love of photography has spanned the last 17 years and continues to be a driving force in my life. My goal is to share the uniqueness & beauty of the outdoor world to as many people as I can. Sharing my vision, art & photographs with others for their peace & enjoyment is a source of inspiration to me.

My photographs are all printed in a traditional darkroom, each being unique in its own way. No two ever are exactly alike & all my prints are seen through to completion by hand. Each is completed with a Selenium toning process, to enhance its beauty & ensure its longevity.

Bryan VanNortwick was born in Ludington, Michigan & grew up in a small town where his main pastimes revolved around outdoor activities. Bryan expanded upon this with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Michigan State University. After 7 years in forestry, he returned to school & earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Although he still works in the computer industry, he appreciates the fine art & skills needed to produce photographs by hand. His work melds both his outdoor background and attention to detail together in a unique combination of skills. He’s exhibited his photographs in numerous locations across the Raleigh area and is continuing his commitment to make his photographs available to the public.
