I am a Fayetteville native and consider myself an artist. I always felt that way, but thought writing poetry and prose were my primary talents. Then the world of visual art opened up. Working on wire wrap jewelry, art photography, stained glass, precious metal clay, polishing stones or wielding a paint brush, I am happy to be creating something.

Two years ago, under the guidance of Nancy Mabes and Robert Way, I finally found my hidden talent: Portrait painting. Stone polishing and then wire wrapping them into inquest jewelry is slowly taking a back seat to painting, but remains an important endeavor.

A former member of Cape Fear Studios and Loafing Artists Studios, I have won medals and purchase awards for works in all media. I hope to slide sideways into my grave with the final signing of a painting. It’s that compelling to me, but I’ll be adorned with my wire wrap pieces when I go!
