Julia Gehres
Jewelry Artist

“Jools Joollery” is a home-based business that sprang from the creative mind of Julia Gehres. After several years of experimentation with different artistic media, she found her niche in jewelry design.

Each item she creates is meant to have a personal attraction and significance to the wearer. Julia researches the properties and the cultural, historical significances of the stones she chooses and works towards synergies between them.

After visualizing the color, sequential layout of the beads and mood of the piece in mind, the crochet technique used in some of the artist’s work typically requires a minimum of four to six hours.

Julia is open to creating pieces by request using colors of the customer’s particular choosing. Another exciting option that she offers is to create a piece of “new” jewelry using old, heirloom pieces that may be broken and hidden away in a box. All items she crafts in this manner will come from a personal feeling she gets after gaining an understanding of the prospective wearer’s likes and needs.

Julia's inspiration comes from the people around her, current fashion, her mood and the beads themselves.

Julia was born, raised and lives on Ile Perrot, in Quebec, Canada.
