Jeanne Bessette

After attending the New England School of Photography Jeanne owned and operated a highly successful photography studio in Rhode Island for over a decade offering cutting edge, images to clients across the country. Although this career was very rewarding in many ways, she longed for something more. So, after thirteen years, she put down the camera and picked up a paint brush. It was as if someone turned on the light. Her transition from the instant gratification of film to the tactile experience of paint felt seamless and she was soon accepted into numerous juried exhibitions and solo shows. Jeanne has become a leading contributor to the world of fine art showing, teaching and selling to a new audience. Her experience as a photographer offers her the skills she needs to see light and composition and she enjoys a powerful palette filled with layers and bold colors. She is enjoying continued success and acceptance by her clients as well as the fine art community.

Jeanne enjoys sharing her craft and is a motivational speaker and teacher of guided intuition as well as painting. She offers workshops in the above mentioned and also works frequently with charities and fundraisers offering art as a tool to help bring people together.

Jeanne's paintings reside in numerous private collections including television personality Michelle Phillips, nationally known comedian, Tim Wilkins and contemporary artists Robert Burridge and Joanna Coke.

"For me, painting is not an occupation as much as it is a preoccupation, I self medicate with paint"

-Jeanne Bessette

"Jeanne pursues her art making with great passion. Over the years she has developed a unique style full of color, and yet it also has many subtle passages of layered hues and glazes.  Her images are rendered to create a mystery through her color placement. She asks the viewer to solve the deeper meaning behind her paintings, leaving us with a strong, memorable impression."
