Photography

I've been interested in photography since I was about 10-years-old. When I was in high school, I was able to take advantage of the opportunity to study photography in a formal way and to work with darkroom equipment. This enabled me to develop my own style from beginning to the end product.

Over the years, I've captured images that I see on a regular basis and have made that a daily ritual. It's a passion that provides me with great joy and fulfillment!

What truly moves me is the ability to portray a unique and compelling moment in time and save it for posterity. The image becomes much more than a one-dimensional likeness of a particular subject. Timing is a key factor in capturing that special moment. It's that rare instant which creates a brilliant, one of a kind image and that I find most special. This is what gives me the most passionate enjoyment in what I do!

My equipment is quite simple. I began shooting with a digital camera using a Pentax A10. I truly enjoy digital photography because I can immediately see the results. It's wonderful!

Although nature is my favorite subject to explore, I also enjoy landscape scenes and images of people. I seek to capture the beauty and enhancement provided by light and shade, proximity, angle, perspective and what these elements will add to the scene. I create all-occasion and holiday photo cards as another expression of sharing my craft.

In addition to presenting my work in exhibits, I've also displayed my photographs in restaurants and retail stores. I receive a great deal of pleasure from my work and I look forward to many more years of capturing the world around us and sharing it with others.
